Product Feedback Survey Questions

Product feedback survey questions should reveal the task, context, and impact behind a request — not only the feature someone suggests.

Questions about the task

  • What were you trying to do?
  • Were you able to complete it?
  • Which step was hardest?
  • What alternative do you use today?
  • What result were you expecting?

Questions about improvement

  • What would make this task easier?
  • What helped you reach the result?
  • What got in the way?
  • Which change would make the biggest difference?

How to adapt

Ask about a task the person actually experienced. Avoid starting with “Would you like us to build X?” because it turns a team hypothesis into a ready-made answer.

Use the feature feedback template when a recent release needs a separate discovery, understanding, usage, and outcome check.

Next step

Choose one task, ask for the outcome and friction, and bring a recurring pattern with evidence to the product decision.
