The math is simple. The important part is keeping the same rule when comparing periods.
Formula
Response rate = responses received ÷ valid invitations × 100. The rate becomes comparable only when audience, channel, and denominator rule are similar.
Divide responses by valid invitations and multiply by 100. Use the same rule when comparing periods.
Choose one coherent denominator, such as delivered invitations or eligible people. Do not mix sent and delivered lists in the same comparison.
Make the invitation clear, shorten the flow, explain how the response will be used, and send while the experience is still fresh without interrupting an open issue.
